Who Are we?

Our Meeting Location…167 Jacolyn Drive NW

If you are looking for a traditional Church experience where you attend, listen to a some songs and a sermon….then this is not for you.  This is a family that cultivates intentional relationships with Christ and one another.

HCF is a safe place to enter into a relationship with God.  A place that isn’t eager to condemn or judge who you are or where you’ve been.   People ready to stand with each other as God continues His work in each one of us.  When people think of church, they often think of a place or building they go to on Sunday mornings to sit and hear a sermon from an authorized minister.  But the scriptures show us something else:

1 Peter 2:9 (NASB-U) “But you are a chosen race, a royal PRIESTHOOD a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”.

Rev. 5:10 (NASB-U) “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

If we know Christ as our Lord and Savior, then we’re all priests before Him.  As priests we’re ministers of the gospel with the role of leadership for…“the equipping of the Saints”.  Our purpose for coming together is to encourage (exhort and equip) one another through our lives and ministry as well as agree with the heart of Jesus.  Wherever His people are gathered together, there is His church and He is there with them, Matthew 18:20 .

We don’t go to church, we are the church.

Two Things

Church is a family that needs a responsive relationship with Him as well as others.  We’re to live out the two commandments we have paraphrased as, ‘Pursuing God and Pursuing Others’.  We’re called to do both.  If we love God but don’t love others, then we don’t love God (because God is love).  But it’s also true that if we love others without loving God, we’re only partaking in a sociology class.  Only through His power can we truly know what love is.  Inside and outside this meeting we pursue God and others by giving people opportunity to express their gifts.

Our Mission

Our mission statement at HCF is:   To unite the Body of Christ, bringing people to Jesus and embracing them as His family. To develop the people to Christ-like maturity, and equip them for their ministry and purpose in the world, in order to glorify Jesus.

This takes place through relationships.  Relationships where you can get down to business and truly get honest with one another are life giving.  Some tend to avoid relationships, but only because we have rarely seen them done well.  Friendships born out of this community give us a place to rest; a place where we can be ourselves.  Resting doesn’t mean inactivity, but we can rest by leaning on one another as we pursue Jesus.

We want ministries, such as children, youth, singles and outreach, to emerge out of a calling instead of a need.  We don’t want our focus to be “how can you serve this institution”, but “how can we help you serve Jesus”.

Our Worship Format and Children’s Ministries

Our format feels more like a “family” where we desire to involve everyone.  Though we have a nursery and classrooms, we are testing out ways for everyone to be involved…having our children “with us” many times and cultivating a family atmosphere.

Youth Ministries

New things are happening with youth through Dan and Dawn Dietz who came back to us after studying at Moody Aviation in Spokane Washington.  Dan came back to start “Paraclete Aviation”- a youth outreach ministering to youth through fellowship, mentoring and aviation.  We are excited to see what the Lord has in store here with Dan.
